Although he has built this organisation from nothing he recognizes that he owes many of his skills along with his professional approach and pragmatic attitude to his father, Rodney Bardwell, a well known and much respected figure in this field who taught his son well. Rodney Bardwell retired in 1981 after running a successful civil engineering company that was taken over from his father George Bardwell and first started in 1902 by his grandfather William Bardwell.
